ABOUT
Living on the water has always been a dream for us, and in 2008 we made it happen. So welcome aboard our pride and joy ‘De Hoop’! Built in 1900 as an original freight ship, and it wasn’t until the early 1990's that she was converted into a houseboat and found a sweet mooring just a few hundred meters from where we are now.
The Westerdok used to be one of the first shipyards for the VOC. In 1832 it was made into an island. From the 60's until 2008, theWesterdok was an alternative scene for squatters and artists, with the former warehouses serving as cool party venues as well as ateliers and workshops.
We are just a 10-minute walk from Centraal Station and Jordaan, and the historic canals with groovy boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. So enjoy the best that Amsterdam has to offer!
